A Bangladeshi man, Atikur, is in a legal battle to retrieve his elephant, Chandratara, who accidentally crossed into the Indian village of Kailashahar. Despite Atikur providing documentation, two Indian villagers also claim ownership. The elephant is currently in custody of the Tripura forest department, with the case set for hearing on January 21.
