All plastic carry bags, multilayered packaging in India must carry thickness, maker details in barcode from July 1
From July 1, producers, importers, and brand owners in India must include details like thickness and manufacturer name on plastic carry bags and multilayered packaging via barcode or QR code. The new rules ensure strict monitoring of carry bags under 120 microns. Violations may result in imprisonment, hefty fines, or both under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986.
