Ethiopian man undergoes complex 10-hour long oesophagus replacement surgery in Delhi hospital
A 38-year-old Ethiopian patient with Boerhaave syndrome underwent a successful oesophagus replacement surgery at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi. Treated by Dr. Deepak Govil and Dr. Vivek Tandon, the surgery used the colon to replace the damaged oesophagus after prior unsuccessful treatments. Post-surgery, the patient was able to eat normally and speak again.
