Filmmaker V Shantaram gets Dr Dwarkanath Kotnis award
The Dr Dwarkanath Kotnis Memorial Committee will posthumously honor legendary filmmaker V Shantaram for his 1946 film, "Dr Kotnis Ki Amar Kahani." The film immortalized the story of Dr. Kotnis, an Indian physician who aided the Chinese army during the Sino-Japanese War and became a symbol of India-China friendship.
