For bribery, CBI arrests 2 CBDT officers in Goa
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested two assistant accounts officers in Panaji for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe. Pankaj Kumar and Aul Wani, employed by the Central Board of Direct Taxes, were accused of withholding a contractor's bills for seven months. They allegedly demanded Rs 2 lakh, later negotiated down to Rs 1 lakh, for their release.
