Great Andamanese population doubles after 2004 tsunami
Great Andamanese tribes have doubled their population to around 74 in the last 20 years since the tsunami. They have made notable progress, including the rise of the first woman chief, various prominent professionals, and increasing intermarriages, although traditional inheritance rules are fading.
