Karnataka's Veerupaksheshwar temple bans bananas to protect sacred site and temple elephant
Tourists visiting the Veerupaksheshwar Temple in Hampi are now prohibited from bringing bananas into the temple premises. This move is aimed at protecting the temple's 36-year-old elephant named Laxmi, and maintaining cleanliness in the revered temple grounds. Officials hope visitors will cooperate with these new guidelines.
