Mom, baby die during home delivery bid in Tamil Nadu's Ranipet district
A 31-year-old woman and her newborn died during a home delivery at her mother's house in Arcot town, Ranipet district. Jothi's mother, Valli, tried to cover up the deaths by pretending her daughter died at the hospital. Hospital staff noticed the childbirth and alerted the police. Valli confessed to attempting the home delivery.
