NIV finds norovirus and Campylobacter bacteria in 21 GBS samples from Pune
The National Institute of Virology (NIV) has identified norovirus and Campylobacter jejuni in samples from 21 Guillain-Barré syndrome patients in Pune. The two detected organisms can cause symptoms like nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea. Contaminated water is suspected to have triggered the GBS spike, with water tests and 'Super Chlorination' measures being implemented.
