Punjab rural body polls results: Counting underway for 22 zila parishads, 153 panchayat samitis; AAP, Congress, SAD, BJP in fray
Vote counting is underway for Punjab's zila parishad and panchayat samiti elections, with tight security in place. Over 9,000 candidates vied for seats in 347 zila parishad zones and 2,838 panchayat samiti zones, recording a 48% voter turnout. Opposition parties had previously alleged electoral malpractices by the ruling AAP during the December 14 polls.
