Feeling persistently sad and wanting to remain indoors for over two weeks could indicate seasonal affective disorder (SAD), more prominent during seasonal changes. It presents as either persistent depression or bipolar disorder with seasonal mood shifts. Treatment includes lifestyle changes, light therapy, and possibly antidepressants or vitamin D supplements. Simple comforts and good sleep hygiene are also recommended.
