The Indian marathoner who kept Hitler waiting at 1936 Olympics
At the 1936 Berlin Olympics, Indian marathon runner CSA Swami, aged 22, kept German dictator Adolf Hitler waiting as he vowed to complete the marathon despite being far behind. Swami's insistence on finishing the race epitomised true sportsmanship and caused a delay in the closing ceremony.
