‘Institutional torture’: Police book multiple people for abetment in IIT-Bombay student suicide case
Powai Police registered a case of abetment of suicide after a student's death. The student's family alleged casteism and institutional torture led to the extreme step. Students organized protests on campus, demanding justice for the deceased second-year student. IIT-Bombay stated no disciplinary action was initiated against the student. Mid-semester examinations scheduled for Saturday were postponed following the incident.
