2 killed as communal clash over council polls explodes in Meghalaya; Army stages flag march, net suspended

Two people died in overnight violence in Meghalaya's West Garo Hills after clashes between the Garo community and supporters of non-tribal candidates for the GHADC elections. Mobile internet services were blocked and the Army was deployed following the unrest, which was triggered by a new rule requiring ST certificates for candidates.
