A 16-year-old Gurugram innovator built low-cost cooling units from upcycled terracotta cups

Amaira Kapoor launched Project Vaayu to develop affordable cooling systems for classrooms across North India. The innovative project repurposes discarded terracotta cups combined with a simple water circulation system for effective cooling. So far, five systems have been installed in four government primary schools, benefiting over 400 students. Additionally, the initiative provides climate awareness education for young learners, with plans for future expansion to more schools.
