Abhay Jodhpurkar recalls SRK supporting his voice for Zero's Mere Naam Tu
Abhay Jodhpurkar opens up to Variety India about industry gatekeeping, self-doubt and how Ajay-Atul backed his voice for Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Mere Naam Tu’ from ‘Zero’. The singer recalls A.R. Rahman trying to launch him in several projects, only for recordings to be replaced by established voices. He also criticises commercial decision-making in playback singing after winning a National Award for ‘Navasachi Gauri Mazi’ from ‘Gharat Ganpati’, a song rooted in his cultural upbringing.
