Ram Shinde lost the Karjat-Jamkhed election to Rohit Pawar. Shinde accused Ajit Pawar of conspiring with Rohit. Ajit Pawar did not campaign against his nephew. Shinde claims this was a pre-planned strategy. He has escalated the issue to his party. Shinde has also requested a recount of the votes.
