Allahabad High Court: Universities cannot be forced to accept JEST score instead of UGC NET for PhD admission
The Allahabad High Court has ruled that universities prescribing UGC NET for PhD admissions cannot be forced to accept JEST scores as an alternative. The court dismissed a candidate’s plea seeking a doctoral interview at Dr Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University, Lucknow, observing that institutions can determine eligibility criteria and are not obligated to recognise every national-level examination.
