Amid attacks, sales surge at Kolkata Left book stalls
Book stalls set up by Left parties saw significant sales increases during Durga Puja amid incidents of vandalism. The CPM stall at Jadavpur 8B bus stand recorded sales of Rs 16 lakh, nearly four times last year's figures. Despite attacks, sales for other Left stalls also increased, evidencing a broader engagement with literature. Politicians from various parties expressed solidarity with the Left stalls amidst ongoing disputes.
