An 8,000-acre South Carolina forest was bought for conservation after drawing developer interest
In a move to prioritize environmental sustainability, Georgetown County officials are backing a substantial acquisition of 4,148 acres in Carvers Bay, which will be transformed into a state forest. Another expansive parcel on Waccamaw Neck is also earmarked for conservation.
