'Anupam Kher's first marriage to actress Madhumalti ended in one day,' recalls Raju Kher
Just days after their ceremonial tying of the knot, Anupam Kher’s first marriage to Madhumalti Kapoor ended abruptly. His brother, Raju Kher, recounted how Anupam left shortly after the temple rites, despite their engagement lasting two to three years. Madhumalti would go on to marry writer-director Ranjit Kapoor. In 1985, Anupam forged a lasting bond with actress Kirron Kher from their theater days, creating a new chapter in his life.
