Assembly elections, bypolls: Inducements worth over Rs588 cr seized by poll panel
Election officials have confiscated over Rs 588 crore worth of illicit goods intended to sway voters in upcoming elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, as well as bypolls in 14 other states. Seizures, including cash, alcohol, drugs, and freebies, have significantly increased compared to the previous elections in 2019, indicating a heightened effort to curb the influence of money in politics.
