Bengaluru professor cheated of Rs 5L in Tirupati temple puja scam
A Bengaluru professor lost Rs 5.2 lakh to social media fraudsters who promised a special puja at Tirupati temple. The scammers, posing as temple priests, lured him with the 'Melchat Vastram Seva', assuring selection through a lucky dip. After multiple payments, the promised puja slots were repeatedly cancelled, leading to further extortion.
