Bitumen price surge: Bitumen costs escalate, slowing road projects; Industry calls for state reserve system to stabilize supply

Amid growing tensions in West Asia, Jharkhand's construction sector is facing skyrocketing costs for essential materials like bitumen, steel, and cement. Just in three months, bitumen prices have skyrocketed by Rs 14,000 per tonne, compounded by a Rs 22 per litre hike in diesel prices. This surge is proving detrimental to road development projects across the state.
