Calcutta high court reins in state govt from selling its property in KMC area
The Calcutta High Court has temporarily barred the Bengal government and WBIDC from selling or transferring properties in Kolkata. This follows an arbitration award of Rs 2,171 crore won by Essex Development Investments Mauritius Limited against the government. The injunction, effective until February 28, 2025, aims to protect the awarded amount while legal proceedings continue.
