Calcutta University-earth science min study in Antarctica finds microplastics in penguins' lung, gut
Indian researchers have discovered microplastics in Adelie penguins from Antarctica's Svenner Islands. The study, conducted on samples collected during an expedition in 2019-2020, revealed microplastics in the penguins' lungs, trachea, and gastrointestinal tracts. This discovery raises concerns about the impact of pollution on the penguin population and the Antarctic ecosystem.
