Central Railway collects record Rs 159 crore from 20.5 lakh ticketless passengers in 6 months

Central Railway has intensified its measures against ticketless travel, collecting immense penalties from offenders. Between April and September 2026, the revenue increased significantly compared to the previous year. In September alone, approximately 2.4 lakh offenders contributed to the substantial earnings. The Mumbai division accounted for the highest recoveries, implementing ambush and fortress checks effectively. Passengers are urged to travel responsibly and ensure they have valid tickets.
