China's Wang Yi visits Russia ahead of possible Xi-Putin meeting
China's top diplomat, Wang Yi, begins a four-day visit to Russia on Monday, during which both countries are expected to promise stronger mutual political confidence in preparation for President Vladimir Putin's possible historic visit to Beijing in October. Wang, who heads both the foreign ministry and the ruling Communist Party's foreign affairs office, will meet Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev for annual security talks, according to the Chinese foreign ministry.
