Colorado family’s farm grew from 160 to 10,000 acres over more than a century

Over a century, the Kochis family farm in Colorado has expanded from a mere 160 acres to an impressive 10,000 acres. Originally from Slovakia, the family, who settled in 1908, battled challenging farming conditions with erratic rainfall. Recently, they installed around 30 wind turbines on their land, generating an expected annual income of $180,000, a promising step towards sustainable farming for Jan and Virgil Kochis.
