Cops destroy poppy plantation in Lawngtlai
Authorities in Mizoram’s Lawngtlai district, near the Myanmar border, dismantled extensive poppy plantations and seized a substantial quantity of raw opium. Two Myanmar nationals were apprehended during the operation, which used drone surveillance to locate the illicit cultivation. The confiscated opium was destroyed, with a portion kept as evidence.
