Dolly Parton never forgot that her father could not read or write, so she began sending free books to children
Dolly Parton, a renowned singer and philanthropist, focused on improving children's literacy through her initiatives. Her inspiration stemmed from witnessing her father's struggles with illiteracy throughout her childhood. In 1988, she founded the Dollywood Foundation, which eventually led to the Imagination Library program in 1995. This program has provided over 325 million books to children globally, ensuring that every book is free to families.
