Ex-havildar in Madras Regiment armoury theft was in touch with 4 Army personnel: Police
U Mallesh, an ex-havildar, allegedly stole a cache of weapons from the Madras Regiment armoury with inside information. After being discharged, he bore a grudge against his superiors and sought revenge through theft. Investigators discovered that he used a simple iron rod to break into the armory during a period of low guard activity. Police have identified insiders providing information and are questioning several suspects associated with the theft.
