'Excessive bleeding': Woman dies after attempting home birth by watching YouTube videos in Tamil Nadu; newborn survives
A tragic home birth attempt near Uthukuli has resulted in the death of a young woman, Sasikala, from excessive bleeding. Opting for a natural delivery after a previous C-section, she and her family followed YouTube tutorials instead of seeking medical guidance. The uncontrolled hemorrhage, triggered by a retained placenta, proved fatal despite hospital intervention. The newborn, however, survived and is under care. Police are investigating.
