Good news for Airbnb guests: They are no longer obliged to strip clean beds and utensils as per new global guidelines
Airbnb's updated policy on guest checkout responsibilities, taking effect after November 20, 2026, marks a significant change in its approach. Hosts can no longer mandate tedious chores like washing dishes or changing bedsheets. However, guests remain responsible for minor tasks, such as putting dirty dishes in the sink. This shift promotes clarity about guest obligations prior to booking, prompting hosts to revise their listings accordingly.
