Harry Kane wins an ominous honour that could doom his Ballon d’Or hopes
Harry Kane has topped MARCA’s 100 best players ranking, narrowly beating Lamine Yamal by 25 points ahead of the Ballon d’Or ceremony. Despite his remarkable goalscoring record and trophy haul, history offers little reassurance, with only one of the poll’s previous winners claiming the Ballon d’Or. The contrasting voting criteria raise questions over whether Kane’s dominance will translate into football’s ultimate individual honour.
