Harvard Business School professor Rohit Deshpande has called for management education to become more participant-centred and relevant to local contexts, including India’s businesses, culture and knowledge traditions. He argues that business schools need more India-focused case studies while shifting away from lecture-heavy teaching. In an AI-driven economy, Deshpande believes creativity and uniquely human capabilities will become increasingly important as routine analytical tasks are automated. He also highlighted HBS’s AI-focused curriculum and the need to make students “AI native”.
