Heart attacks kill 16K+ in Mumbai every year; cancer toll nears 10K
Mumbai's mortality data shows little change in leading causes of death. Heart disease and cancer continue to claim thousands of lives annually in the city. Tuberculosis and other infectious diseases also remain significant causes of mortality. Head and burn injuries contribute hundreds of deaths each year. "Any other disease" category accounts for over fifty thousand deaths annually.
