In 2008, Michael Phelps used his $1 million Olympic bonus to start a foundation; by 2020, it had reached 100,000+ young people
Michael Phelps, after winning eight gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, established the Michael Phelps Foundation. This foundation focuses on promoting swimming, water safety, and healthy living for young people. Programs like 'im' aim to instill confidence and coping skills among children. The foundation has expanded to include mental health education during the COVID-19 pandemic. Partnerships with organizations ensure these programs reach diverse communities across the globe.
