Iowa sees 60% surge in private school enrollment: Here is why
Iowa’s Education Savings Account (ESA) program has seen a remarkable 60% increase in participation, with over 27,000 students now using taxpayer funds to attend private schools. The surge is part of a broader trend towards expanding school choice in the state, as private school enrollment grows by 9%. The ESA program, which provides up to $7,800 per student, will be available to all Iowa families starting in 2025, with an estimated $218 million in funding by the end of the 2024-25 school year.
