J&K government doubles monthly stipend for MBBS, BDS interns to Rs 25,000 after renewed protests over delayed hike
The Jammu and Kashmir government has increased the monthly stipend for MBBS and BDS interns, including Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs), from Rs 12,300 to Rs 25,000, effective October 1, 2026. The decision follows renewed protests by interns over delays in fulfilling an earlier assurance. The hike aims to ease financial pressure on medical trainees.
