Jharkhand Liquor Shops Shut Down: High Sales Targets Blamed for Closures
Eighty-four liquor shops across Jharkhand have ceased operations. Dealers cite significant losses stemming from stringent daily sales targets imposed by the excise department. The new excise policy, implemented last September, has led to these closures. Some shops in Ranchi and other districts failed to meet their targets. The excise department is proceeding with reallocating these licenses to new owners.
