Karnataka schools directed to celebrate Kannada Rajyotsava on November 1 despite Sunday holiday
Kannada Rajyotsava 2026: The Karnataka School Education and Literacy Department has directed all government, aided and unaided primary and high schools to celebrate Kannada Rajyotsava on November 1, 2026, despite the date falling on a Sunday. An October 15 circular instructs schools to observe state and national festivals on their designated dates without postponement due to holidays. Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa reiterated the directive, while some school authorities raised concerns about parental participation and teachers' weekly holiday.
