Karnataka withdraws Bill allowing 5% park land use, to reintroduce it after public consultation

The Karnataka Cabinet decided to withdraw a controversial bill allowing park land use. This proposed legislation will now be publicly discussed and amended. The government aims to reintroduce the bill in the next legislative session. Protests against the amendment had prompted the government to reconsider its provisions. Public suggestions will be compiled before the bill is reintroduced in a revised form.
