Kolkata Municipal Corporation uses more chlorine to treat water as Hooghly turbidity rises
The KMC water supply department is increasing chlorine levels in raw water at the Palta treatment plant due to a sharp rise in turbidity in the Hooghly River. The turbidity level has nearly doubled in two days, posing challenges for maintaining safe drinking water supplies across Kolkata and potentially damaging filtration equipment.
