Kolkata's Layelka pond set for revamp: New ghat and beautification before Chhath puja
The state government has allocated Rs 37 lakh to the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA) for revitalizing Layelka pond at Regent Estate. The plan involves constructing a new ghat, partially renovating an existing one, desilting the waterbody, and landscaping before Chhath Puja. This effort follows the closure of Rabindra and Subhas Sarobar for Chhath devotees.
