Loan nightmare: Maharashtra farmer forced to sell kidney in Cambodia as Rs 1 lakh debt soars to Rs 74 lakh; 6 held
A Chandrapur farmer, driven to desperation by exorbitant interest rates and harassment from six private moneylenders, has filed a police complaint. Forced into a debt trap that spiralled from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 74 lakh, he resorted to selling his kidney in Cambodia for Rs 8 lakh to settle his dues. Police have arrested the accused.
