LPG subsidy bill races beyond budget, may hit Rs 1 lakh crore this fiscal
LPG subsidy spending may surpass one lakh crore rupees in FY27. This projection significantly exceeds the budget's thirty thousand crore rupee allocation. Higher fuel prices and ongoing war uncertainty are driving this increased subsidy burden. Government finances face pressure from these rising subsidy commitments. Capital expenditure is expected to remain measured during the first half of FY27.
