Martha’s Vineyard rejects 54-acre housing plan after seven marathon meetings
Martha's Vineyard's planning board has turned down the Katama Meadows housing initiative after thorough discussions. This project sought to meet housing demands through a mix of affordable and market-rate homes catering to essential workers. However, environmental concerns regarding nitrogen pollution and the inclusion of luxury properties raised significant opposition, leading to the decision. The land remains with the developers, who may consider a revised proposal in the future.
