Mayor poll row: Audit flags inaction against Anil Masih

Nearly two and a half years after the Supreme Court intervened, the Chandigarh government faced audit scrutiny. The audit questioned the lack of action against Anil Masih, the presiding officer in the 2024 mayoral election. Supreme Court found wrongdoing in Masih’s invalidation of valid votes, which altered the election outcome. Consequently, the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation modified the voting procedure for the mayoral elections in 2025.
