Metro 7A design lapse may force MMRDA to rebuild viaduct stretch, could lead to Rs 260cr public funds loss
MMRDA faces potential rebuilding costs for Metro 7A due to consultant oversight. Airport height restrictions were not adequately factored into the design and planning. This oversight affects overhead electrical equipment and the elevated structure's required height. Civil works are substantially advanced, with Metro 7A seventy-one percent complete. Additional clearance ranging from 2.5cm to 2.4m is now needed.
